INBO
AI-assisted insulin calculator for Type 1 diabetes
A calculator and safety companion for teens, adults, and the caregivers who help them manage Type 1 diabetes.
Coming soon to the App StoreManaging T1D is relentless
Every meal is a calculation. Every correction is a judgment call. Every night is a question about what's happening while you sleep. Tools that only record data leave the hardest work to you.
What INBO does
A calculator that thinks with you, and a second set of eyes that watches your data
INBO calculates insulin doses from your ratios and your current state, the way a seasoned diabetic or caregiver would. Then it keeps watching — even when the app is closed — for the patterns that matter: overnight lows, missed basal doses, post-meal spikes, and correction stacking.
You stay in control of every decision. INBO shows its work, explains its reasoning, and surfaces the data you need to decide — or to talk to your endocrinologist.
The calculator
An insulin calculator built for real meals and real life
- Enter your ratios once. INBO uses ICR, Correction Factor, insulin-on-board, and current trend to calculate the dose.
- Every calculation shows the inputs and the math. No black box.
- Works with any insulin-to-carb ratio. No "kid mode" or "adult mode."
- Built-in in-app testing wizards help you measure your ICR, Correction Factor, and Carb Sensitivity Factor — so you can confirm your numbers are still working.
Automated agents — a second set of eyes, 24/7
Most apps record data. INBO actively watches it.
- Bedtime Guardian Agent — flags overnight low risk before and after you fall asleep.
- Post-Meal Tracker Agent — watches meal bolus success (spike vs. clean landing).
- Correction Monitor Agent — watches corrections for highs AND lows; flags stacking and rebound risk.
- Missed Basal Nudger Agent — lets you know when you failed to log a basal dose.
- Exercise / Low Predictor Agent — real time, single event, acute prevention.
- Weekly Digest Agent — a summary that you can share with family or your care team.
- Post-Meal Curve Agent — analyzes the shape of blood glucose response curves.
- Pattern Spotter Agent — finds recurring highs/lows across days and weeks.
- Settings Insight Agent — surfaces trends to discuss with your endocrinologist.
INBO agents communicate with you or a caregiver in several ways: push and in-app notifications, plus SMS and WhatsApp for select agents on Premium and Pro plans.
Carb estimation, your way
- Take a photo of a meal or menu.
- Scan a barcode or QR code.
- Search or type your meal.
- Import restaurant menus.
- Log and get responses by text when it's faster than tapping.
Every estimate shows its assumptions and its confidence. You stay in control with per-item carb sliders.
Built for real life
- Works with your CGM — readings update automatically.
- Family-friendly — caregivers can view and log from their own device, on their own tier.
- Emergency Contact (optional) — alerts a trusted contact during severe lows when you don't respond.
- Always-on monitoring — even when the app isn't open.
SMS notifications and consent
How INBO sends SMS — and how you opt in
INBO can deliver agent alerts via SMS in addition to push and in-app notifications. SMS is opt-in only — INBO will never send a text without explicit affirmative consent and a verified phone number. There are two consent flows.
Self-alerts (patient consent)
During app onboarding or later in Settings → INBO Agents, the user enables SMS notifications for their own diabetes-management alerts (overnight safety, missed basal nudges, blood glucose pattern findings, severe-hypoglycemia escalation). To turn SMS on, the user:
- Enters their own phone number.
- Explicitly checks a consent checkbox stating: "I agree to receive SMS notifications from INBO at this number about my diabetes management. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help."
- Receives a one-time confirmation SMS to verify the number before any further alerts begin.
Caregiver alerts (third-party consent)
When a patient invites a caregiver via INBO's Family & Caregivers feature, the caregiver enrolls separately. The caregiver installs INBO on their own device, redeems the invite code, and — if they want SMS alerts in addition to push — enters their own phone number, checks their own consent checkbox, and verifies via a one-time confirmation SMS. Caregivers are never enrolled into SMS by the patient alone.

A decision-support tool, not a medical device
INBO is an insulin dose calculator and monitoring companion. It is not a regulated medical device, and it does not replace your healthcare provider or your CGM. Always consult your care team before making changes to insulin therapy, and in an emergency call 911.
For caregivers
INBO is built for adults managing their own T1D and for adult caregivers supporting a minor. When you link a caregiver's device, they see the same data and can log doses on the patient's behalf from their own device — but each device keeps its own subscription tier and its own notification settings.
This is especially for:
- Parents of a teen with T1D.
- Adults managing an older relative's care.
- A second parent, grandparent, or school nurse who shares the decision load.
